Let Your Voice Be Heard!
Depression and anxiety can be so isolating. They tell you that no one else feels the way you feel, no one else will understand. It is my hope that this site helps to fight those lies by allowing you the space to share your story and connect with others who know exactly what you’re going through. I’m so proud of you for wanting to be a part of the solution and for choosing to share your story. Thank you!
Guidelines
I know, I know, rules are the worst. They are, however, necessary. This is the internet, after all. Take a few minutes to go over the guidelines to help ensure your story will be published on this site.
DO:
- Be honest. Speak from personal experience.
- Find the everyday humor.
- Give Specific examples (change names when necessary).
DON’T
- Give advice. No one likes to be preached at.
- Glorify the illness. i.e., don’t focus on how hopeless and meaningless life is, rather focus on how you manage to find a glimpse of hope despite depression and anxiety.
- Describe generally what depression is – we’re all here for your story!
- Indicate in your email if you want to remain anonymous or if you want to share your first name. Also, indicate if you have a site or social media page you want me to link out to.
- Every piece should have a clear title.
- Indicate in your email which main category your post will go under. You can always suggest more categories in the body of your email.
“You own everything that happened to you. Tell your stories. If people wanted you to write warmly about them, they should have behaved better.” – Anne Lamott
